Afternoon/Evening Closings on 7/24, 7/31, 8/7

Due to performances, the temple will be closed during the afternoons and evenings on 7/24, 7/31, and 8/7.

The performances on 7/24 and 8/7 will be in Chinatown Square and will start sometime around 4:30 pm.

Our temple will be closed on July 3-5 (Saturday, Sunday, Monday) to observe the Fourth of July holiday. Classes will be resumed on Tuesday, July 6. Have a good holiday.

2010 Summer Picnic in Westmont, IL

China Masters Invited for April Anniversary Celebrations

Masters You Liang Zhu, Chao Zhang, Yuan Feng Wang, and Yang Yang Guo of the China Song Shan Shaolin Temple have been invited to come to Chicago and be part of our April 2010 festivities. They will participate in the following events that have been scheduled :

On April 18, 2010, we will be conducting a Buddhist ceremony along with a Shaolin Kung Fu performance.
On April 20 – 23, 2010, we will have an exam for our students to advance to the next level.

2010 China Trip Scheduled

Shifu Yan Ju is once again taking students to China this summer! The trip will be from August 16th to August 30th and will cost approximately $3800. The price includes all transportation, meals, lodging, and visa fees. For more information, please download our flier.

2010 Schedule Change

The schedule for classes for 2010 has been changed slightly. The main differences are that Tuesday and Friday evenings will now have san da class, and Sunday evenings will have sitting meditation. Sitting meditation is open to anyone that is interested.

Tibetan Buddhist Medicine Lectures

Drupon Rinchen Dorjee, the spiritual director of Chicago Ratna Shri Sangha, will be teaching at the Chicago Shaolin Temple in Buddhist Medicine techniques and practice. The sessions will be from Friday, October 23, 2009 to Sunday, October 25, 2009.

The China Day 60th anniversary parade went well, and so did the two performances in Chinatown Square for Mid-Autumn Moon Festival. Thanks to the many students, parents, and supporters who were involved. We'll try to get pictures up soon.
